About TheTruthAboutAmazon.com and Creator Jason Lancaster

In 2007 I became a full-time Internet marketer. When I first started out, I focused 100% of my energy on affiliate marketing. For those who don’t know, affiliate marketing is a fancy name for promoting other people’s products or services in exchange for a small percentage of any sales the promotions generate.

One of my more successful affiliate projects is TundraHeadquarters.com, a website dedicated to the Toyota Tundra. This site features many affiliate links, some of which were pointed towards Amazon.com before I was “fired” [more on that below].

I’ve earned a fair amount of money as an Amazon affiliate, and for a long time I recommended Amazon.com to everyone. In addition to being an affiliate, I was a long time customer. One of my very first online purchases was made on Amazon.com in 1999.

On March 8th, 2010, I was “fired” by Amazon.com because the State of Colorado passed a law requiring Amazon.com to pay sales tax. Angry, I began looking for a place to vent my frustrations. It was at this time that I learned about many of Amazon’s problems.

I was oblivious to Amazon’s support of animal abuse, their bullying of small business owners, and their tax avoidance strategies. I created this site because I think everyone deserves to know about the real Amazon.com.
